FIRE SAFETY

  • Identify two escape routes from each room. Make sure everyone, especially children, knows the plan. Teach children to follow the escape routes without stopping for valuables or returning to the burning home.

  • Install smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. An early warning allows more time to evacuate.

  • Check detectors monthly and replace batteries at least once per year.

  • Close doors while sleeping. Open doors allow fires to spread more quickly.
