Fire Safety
- Identify two escape routes from each room
- Make sure everyone, especially children, knows the plan
- Teach children to follow the escape routes without stopping for valuables or returning to the burning home
- Install smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, an early warning allows more time to evacuate
- Check detectors monthly and replace batteries at least once a year
- Close doors while sleeping, open doors allow fires to spread more quickly
