After September 11, 2001, EPS was approached by a large public utility and asked to provide a feasible solution to protect the city’s extensive water treatment facilities. EPS rose to the challenge by teaming with a local architect to not only ensure the buildings on the site were safe, but that the entire site was protected from intrusion. A dual layer fence as well as an electronic perimeter detection system was installed. Access control was added to the electronic gates for ease of access for authorized personnel and the whole site was watched over with several video cameras. By broadcasting the video from these cameras wirelessly to another facility miles away, EPS was able to save the city thousands of dollars per year in labor to man the site.
